Ahhhhhhhhh it’s been two weeks!!! What the what? How in the???
I missed you guys.
SO. Yes, the shiny new job is everything I hope it would be and more. I am a lucky, lucky girl… DON’T I KNOW IT.
There is so much going on my head is spinning, LIT-RALLY, but it’s all good- nay, great- so you won’t hear a peep of complaint out of me. I’ve been trying to scale back all those extra little projects I constantly seem to take on, but I think at my core I’m happiest when I’m busy and plotting planning and meeting friends and making connections, so as long as I’m “juggling” rather than “burning out at a terrifying pace”, life is what it is- one big, happy, crazy mess of STUFF ‘N THINGS that I adore.
For example, DC friends! It’s been far too long since we clinked a beer together. Let’s fix that at Tonic (Mt. Pleasant) on Wednesday, Jan. 26th, mmmkay? They’ve recently renovated the upstairs bar (next to Radius Pizza) and it is THE GORGEOUS. My dear friend Patrice, the best bartender in the world, will be personally taking care of our group, so RSVP here (no physical ‘ticket’ needed to come- that’s just Eventbrite’s way, just sign up and you’re good to go) and I’ll see you then! (Half-priced burgers, beers, and more… and don’t forget, Tonic is the king of the tator tot!)
Now! For everyone NOT in DC, it’s also been too long since I saw you. Particularly if we’ve never met.
Let’s fix that.
This May 19th-22nd, bloggers from all over the USofA and beyond will converge on America’s Playground, aka Las Vegas (Vegas, baby, Vegas!!!) for the renowned BLOGGERS IN SIN CITY ultimate meetup. Four days of drinking, bonding, sun, drinking, unicorns, hugs, dance parties, and drinking. All the info you need is here, but feel free to ask me any questions in the comments if you’re thinking about coming (please do!) It was an absolute blast last year, and with more organization and some crazy awesome sponsorship, this year promises to be even better. What what!!!
Next up: I finally decided to make one of those rad “Facebook pages” the kids are all talking about for this here blog, so if you want to add a little glitter to my day, head on over to the ‘book and LIKE this crazy thing. I’ll also be deleting my “blog” profile in lieu of that page, so if you wanna KIT, that’s where to do it!

Finally (housekeeping! You want me fluff your pillow?) – after a wonderful year as a contributing editor with DC Blogs, I’ve decided to relinquish my Tuesday slot to someone who has more time on their hands and is able to truly find the best, the brightest, and the most colorful from around the DC blogosphere. If you’re interested in being a weekly contributing editor at DC Blogs, shoot them an email with your info (name, url, etc.) and why you want to be a part of that stellar community (and trust me, it is).
*phew*
So that’s my news! What’s yours?

I am dying to do a Blogger convention thingy and I have never been to Las Vegas. I have been a lot of places and somehow have missed out on Vegas. Anyways, please send me DETAILS. Vegas is so close to Sedona and I think I could swing this convention by my husband because he wants to hit up Vegas too.
I am so glad you are loving your new job!!!!
Hooray! Here’s the FAQs on the site, hopefully this covers the bases:
http://www.bloggersinsincity.com/faq
But if you have any other questions, just let me know!
I was wondering when you would blog again! I’m glad to hear the new job is going well. Can’t wait to hear more about it.
*sigh* The only thing keeping me from registering for BiSC is the fact that I’ll most likely be living in another country by May. Still trying to figure out if still attending is feasible. We’ll see.
Ooooo, I hear you. And that is an AWESOME reason to be holding out, haha! But you can transfer your ticket if you find out you can’t go, like BlogHer- as long as it’s before a certain date (not sure when that is, but I think the FAQs says)!
So glad to hear that new job is going fantastically and that you’re happy there.
I have no fun news yet, but still applying for jobs in DC.
Yes and also please! I know it’s hard- believe me, I just went through it- but we will do what we have to to get you here! You should shoot me your resume/what you’re looking for and I’ll keep an ear to the ground… xo
Hooray for new job! I switched career paths last year so I am also experiencing the same joy. That Vegas blogger event sounds pretty badass, don’t think we can make it this year but is this a yearly thing? Fellow bloggers and drinking? Don’t mind if I do!!
Here’s to not burning out at a terrifying pace! Cheers!
It is indeed a yearly thing, so definitely plan on 2012! I’m sure it’ll be even better then (if that’s even possible…
so glad everything is going peachily!
i WANT to go to bisc….i do i do. just all these little niggling what-if’s and the fact that i have a work event that thursday morning holding me back.
Stop niggling and pack your bags, lady! It’s VEGAS!!! (And it doesn’t start til Thursday night
Ohhhh Bloggers in Sin City sounds awesome!! Too bad I have 2 munchkins and a teen and that sort of keeps me grounded…at home….
Have fun though!!
I’ll take plenty of videos for you, lady friend.
I would LOVE to get absolutely wasted with everyone in Vegas. Especially if someone promises me there’ll be lots of male strippers.
Male, female, lady, we’ll do it all! Chippendales, here we come!
all signed up and ready for bisc!!! may couldn’t come soon enough.
I’M SO HAPPY YOU’RE COMING!
COSIGNNNNNN
I wish I had the money for a blog convention/meetip. Stupid wedding. Oh wait.
:p
Hahaha, best excuse EVAR.
I WANT TO GOOOOOOOO TO VEGAS!!!! But yeah, I read that 6 month old babies are sooooo 2009. How about all you guys get knocked up in Vegas and have Hooker Glitter Babies and come to Chicago for a Parents in Windy City meet up?
Oooooo. Chels and I have already decided our room will be named “BRITNEY, THE BEDAZZLED UNICORN STRIPPER”. If that doesn’t produce a few Hooker Glitter Babies, nothing will.
ldkfgjflkgjdflkjlfkgjhflgkh
That’s all I’ve got left right now.
F YEAH VEGAS
RIGHT?!?!?!!?!?!? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Really bummed I can’t go to Vegas this year. BUT hopefully we can meet up in Nashville soon! Hope the job stuff is going well.
Seriously! I’m going to be there every few weeks or so, so I’ll def keep you posted! If not, maybe another NYC reunion?
Finally I’m in a place where I could get to and enjoy a DC blogger happy hour…and I will be out of town for work. Sad!
Glad you’re enjoying the new job and focusing on fun fun things!
Booooooooo. BUT yay to being in a place where you COULD come to one! There’s sure to be plenty more (if I know me… and I do).
holy shit, i have miles to get me to vegas.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
ahhh first of all, so excited for you that the new job is treating you well. i knew you’d find your place professionally, in the social media world!
also…. i checked out your snazzy bio on the BiSC page, and i love the fact that i was there with you that day. that was so fun. nothing beats a random pub in NYC with cheap happy hour specials.
i really really hope i can get to BiSC this year! if i can go, it’ll be because of tax return $$ haha.
Haha, you totally took that picture!! So funny. And you HAVE to come to BiSC, you just have to. It is totally a Once in a Lifetime kinda deal.
but… but… if you leave DC Blogs, who will pimp me out? You know I’m too lazy to pimp myself out…
Hahaha. Well, why don’t you apply?
…also… HOORAY NEW JOB! YAY NOT BEING BURNT OUT!
YES! This is a good thing!
Thanks to Gina all the way up there, I started following here long enough ago that I cannot wait to experience the insanity that you blogged about last year!
I think I’ll be giving up my graduation ceremony to be at BiSC, so that opening night I expect to be getting lots of graduation drinks! (And yes I know exactly how much they will be costing.)
This year is going to be like last, times A GABIZILLION.
Approximately.
Bring your drinking hat!!! Graduation drinks for everyone!
Great to see you’re enjoying your new job!
Have a great time!
Thank ya! I promise to
Oneday BISC, oneday! *le sigh*
You need to live closer, lady friend. *pout*
Dammit, why do these bloggy meetups always have to happen on the other side of the country??
What! I’ve had dozens on the East Coast!!
Well, I know YOU have…I was referring to the one in Las Vegas. But then I guess they couldn’t call it Bloggers in Sin City if it wasn’t held there, eh?
Oh, okay. That’s fair. I’m just not enough for you… I GET IT NOW.
*sigh* Oh, that’s not what I mean, either. This is what I get for using words before noon.
I haven’t coffee’d yet either. We should both probably quit while we’re behind. <3
So glad to hear things are going so well for you love! I don’t think I’m going to make it to Vegas (I don’t have 2 vacation days to use :p) but make sure and give everyone a giant hug for me!
Hooray! A new post from you! Im thrilled to hear your shiny new job rules, and that your so happy. And, of course, I will “like” your new facebook page. Sadly, I wont be able to come to Vegas.
Your own Facebook page?
Impressive!
I’m so glad your new job is great and I know you have probably helped encourage other people to chase down what they feel they are meant to be doing, too!
BiSC sounds like a great time!
I just read the convention website. Three hundred and fifty dollars – for ALL of that? Oh my god. Oh. My. God. I want to go so bad. But being jobless at the moment and relying on promotions and blackjack dealing gigs to get by, I can’t justify the cost. Even if it’s beyond ridiculously reasonable for all of the included activities… and drinks… and networking opportunities…
Anyway. That’s awesome that you have a facebook page! “Like.”
Do you think either Murray or Axe Murderer (or both) need leg warmers? Because I found a great pattern and I’ll totally make them if you’ll put them on and take a picture.
I’m afraid of curling irons
so much happy up in here
i can’t make it for this year’s BiSC, but i’m making it a priority for 2012
Shit shit shit. I want to go. I do. I’m back on the fence. I was on the fence, I jumped back down to my side of the fence, and now I’ve climbed back up. I just don’t knowwwwwwwwwwww.
I even transferred the money into the account that’s hooked up to my Paypal. All I have to do is push buttons and it’s ON.
I just… I can’t make myself do it…
I have issues, yes I do…
Congrats on the new job! Vegas sounds intriguing, although I think I’m still hungover from the last time I was there. That was in August.
I’m so glad the new job is going so well and that you’re sounding so positive again
… my news? I’m pregnant!!!!
I am really glad yo hear that the job is going really well.
I mostly just love that you said literally like Rachel Zoe.
But I live near the Tonic in Foggy Bottom!!!
Congrats on enjoying life! And glad you make one of those fancy Bookfacer pages so we can friend ya! Having to stay anonymous has the unfortunate side effect of preventing me from attending any and all blog meet-ups
But I’ll be there with you guys/gals in spirit.
good text
I’m going to BiSC this year! I canNOT wait to meet you there! You’re probably the blogger I’m most anxious to meet… haha.
So glad your new job is so fab! Congrats!
Wow!!! I’m glad that you’re loving your new job, although you are one busy girl! We’ll all miss your DC Blogs’ picks, but I’m happy that you are taking some things off of your very full plate. xoxo
