Welcome to Part Dos of my BlogHer experience! (Numero Uno is here.)
I nursed my hangover by donning my keyboard cat shirt (play him off, Keyboard Cat!), which is scientifically proven to cure all ailments:
If there ever was a crowd to appreciate this shirt, it’s BlogHer. Trust. (Aren’t we all just crazy cat-lady bloggers on the inside, after all? I thought so.)
After some more Expo Hall swag-gathering, I met up with my darlings from Bloggers in Sin City: Katelin, LaceyBean, and Jessica B.for some good old-fashioned s’mores making.
No, seriously:

Down the hall in the Serenity Suite, I finally got to meet the has-no-right-to-be-that-gorgeous-with-three-munchkins Kate from The Big Piece of Cake. (Never mind the fact that she lives, oh, two miles from me, and this is the first time we were able to meet.) Heart you, lady!
Then it was time to Swag Swap with Katelin, Lacey and Jess; AKA get rid of five pounds of stuff I didn’t need (read: couldn’t fit into my suitcase), and pick up a few choice items other people had decided to leave behind.
Imagine my Complete and Utter Joy when we discovered…
A FEATHER BOA AND CAPE, casually discarded like someone’s holey (not holy) granny panties!!! I instantly knew they were meant for me to give them a good home.
After we got all touristy with it, traipsing around Times Square (boa and cape included, of course), it was FINALLY time for…
The NYC 20sb Happy Hour!!!!!!!!!!!
I would love to list everyone who was there, but I would undoubtedly forget someone near and dear to my heart, so this will have to suffice:

Johnny Utah’s was a fantastic host to us 20sb-ers. I have no words for the amazing sauce of this evening… but I can show you it.

Heart you, @missheidi !!!
Then we made our way back to the Sparklecorn and Cheezburger parties at BlogHer for epic dance parties and… well… other things that must be seen to be believed.

And because it’s just too good not to share:
So, yes… I had a Fucking Lot of Fun.
But more importantly, going to BlogHer and spending time amongst all these beautiful ladies (and the two Matts!) made me want to write again, which is something I haven’t really felt since all that MTV jazz began and I didn’t have time to think, breathe, eat or sleep for a month. It reminded me of all the great people I’ve met, people I’m proud to know and call friends, from all over the country, America’s hat, and beyond, who I desperately want to stay in touch with.
BlogHer, to me, wasn’t about the sponsors, or the lectures, or the swag. It was about meeting people, making new connections and reaffirming the old… the very reason I started this goddamn blog in the first place. I feel like through BISC and 20sb and BlogHer and PB AND TUNA ON OCTOBER 23rd!!!! and gchats and grabbing a drink when we’re in town, we’re really and truly friends. And that, that is a fantastic feeling.
P.S. Bull riding pics/video to come tomorrow…

SO, I went onto this BlogHer website and now I am even more confused!! Geez lady… how do I keep up with all this crap?!!? But I want in on the fun… so I just have to do it!! hahaha
I am so glad you had a great time, and am even happier that you now feel like you want to write again.
Envious.
P.S. I adore you.
it was so nice meeting you! i love the group shot, but i kind of have the sads…no picture of the massive bull?
Seriously, blogging rocks. I have no idea what I’d do without my friends I’ve meet through blogging. I can’t imagine a world without it, which includes you because, um, you rock and also, I miss you. Glad you had a Fucking Lot of Fun. <3.
Who could not have fun wearing a boa and a gold cape? I mean really, I them in every color!
I fucking love you.
That is all.
<3
I hope while you were in NYC you went and took a giant crap on MTV’s front door step. Opportunities, you gotta take em when they present themselves.
Smores?! Yes, please.
Looks like a ton of blast. I’m glad to hear this helped in getting you back to what you love – I have no idea exactly how you went through all the MTV stuff, but you are a strong woman for competing!
I cannot wait for this video tomorrow…yesssss
AWESOME recap, and thanks for capturing and posting those pictures and tweets. Had an AWESOME time dancing my face off with you and the others – you rock a cape like no one’s biznass.
That sounds amazing! And good for you for grabbing the bull by the balls and going alone. I mean, I assume that is what tomorrows video is of anyway.
damnit I need a cape.
How did we drink vodka before without wearing a cape?
To be there…I lived vicariously through tweets.
yay! glad you’re back.
Soooo many familiar faces! Glad to see NY treated you ladies well…we need some boy representation at BlogHer next year:)
Great to finally meet you lady! I owe you the pic of falling off the bull.
I’m not as quick to the recap as the rest of you ladies… must.get.sleep.
i cant wait till im twenty-something…
Ah! Why did we not take a picture?? Of course I could say that about the entire weekend… Anyway – I so loved meeting you, my adorable 20something friend. I knew that the mechanical bull bar wasn’t going to happen for me. Too many conflicting plans (and white pants).
Lunch soon!
I love that shirt! I also love the tweets that resulted from your BlogHer adventures.
I’m so happy that BlogHer rejuvenated your passions for blogging! The whole MTV thing was ridiculously unfair and it’s only natural that it sapped some of your energy.
Also? I’m so happy that PB & Tuna is on a Saturday. Mark my words: I WILL BE THERE. And I can’t wait!
OMFG! I am so jealous of your drinking cape! And that you attended BlogHer!
You found my cape and boa! Aw, glad to see it went to a good home!
We are very glad to have our LiLu back… and I hope someday I get to go to one of these meet-ups. Living in Minnesota and having a limited income sucks!
Love the photos! Looks like you had a blast.
And now I know why we didn’t meet up – I think I’m old enough to be your mother. I was probably knitting in the corner of the geriatric room while you were riding the mechanical bull.
Come find me next year… I’ll have pink tennis balls on the bottom of my walker, OK??
Aside from that girl who quit her job via dry erase board, that pic of you in a cape drinking vodka is the most amazing/inspirational thing I’ve seen all day!
Boas, capes, s’mores, cocktails…sounds like a pretty epic night!
i mean yes. perfect recap. we should wear capes and tutus every day. that wouldn’t be weird or anything.
oh buddy it looks like you guys had the best time ever! jealous.
I so badly wanted to go. I made fun of it and all that for the sake of the blog but I really wanted to be there. Love the hats!
Dude it was an awesome weekend. That cape is wicked fierce too. Fact. Can’t wait for us to hang out again!
Thanks for the recap. Sweet hats.
This seems like it was so much fun. I really wish I could have gone, but I couldn’t pass up Lolla. It’s fun to see all these recap posts though!
Are you really wearing a unicorn shirt? And a cape? Ohh, LiLu. How I love you.
My eyes are all closed and stupid in that picture but WHATEVER I LOVE YOU.
So much fun at our dance party!
Let’s party?
Meeting people/networking with other bloggers is precisely why I hope to be at a future BlogHer (or any conference of the sort). I have connected with so many intelligent and wonderful people from all over the country (well, heck, the world even?)…meeting them in person would just be the icing on the cake! That, and maybe the fact that I’d get to confirm that all my online “friends” aren’t really 50 year old sketchy men…
Sounds like a really great time! Next year it is in San Diego so I will most definitely be attending.
First thing-I NEED to buy that keyboard cat shirt! It is too awesome!
Second thing-This blog is the first that I’ve read in which the writer went to a bar in another city in a cape! Also, very awesome!
Any chance that BlogHer will ever be in “America’s Hat?” (CANADA!) anytime soon?
I’m gross and unlimited amounts of jealous.
LMAO – i love it!!! you crack me up, girl!
The cape-in-bar action shot might be one of the best photos I’ve ever seen!
i mean, no. fuck this. i should’ve been there.
i am pretty bummed i wasn’t there for this good time. especically since new york is right in my backyard. pityyyyyyy.
i’d pay big bucks to attend a campfire with you and katelin. well okay, maybe not big bucks. but i’d like buy you a burger off the dollar menu or something.
