So yesterday, I finally made The Switch.
You know the one I mean…

No no, my friends, I mean the most important switch any true interwebs addict (who can’t get an iPhone because of their Verizon family plan slash being poor DAMN YOU APPLE AND YOUR ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY JUST OUT OF MY REACH!!!!!) can make:
from BlackBerry… to Droid.
(Cue drum finale, cymbals, triangle!)
I’ve been wanting to switch teams (ha) for a while. The only thing I was worried about was not having real, push-me-and-feel-it-click buttons. This whole touch screen thing seems a little sketch, like the old guy at the bar who puts his cheek out for a kiss and then turns at the last second so you plant one on him.
What?
But the Droid- (hmmm, it needs a name. Eduardo? Eduardo it is)- won me over within the hour. First of all, Eddie has a KEY FOR EVERY LETTER!!!!! (Yes, I had the Pearl, aka the only Berry without a qwerty keyboard. And yes, it blew chunks. Big wet ones.)
I know, I know. I’m so behind the times. I’m basically Amish. Or the Duggars. (Having twenty kids is SO 19th century.)
Anyhoo. Not only does Eddie have a FULL keyboard, the damn thing practically knows what I want to say before I think it. Or at least, is reallyreally good at guessing. Here, I’ll prove it.

I’m thinking about getting one myself when my upgrade comes up this year. I’m so torn, although I’ll probably end up with a Droid. I am easily persuaded toward objects that are shiny and flashy–strippers and Droid phones included.

I have a droid and I love it, but the auto correct feature is sometimes a little wonky. It always changes fuck to duck, I mean, no, I probably never want to say duck! One of these days I would like to allow auto correct to do whatever it wants and I will hit send without thinking twice. None of my tweets or text messages will make any sense, but it would be kinda funny. No? Just for me? Whatever.

I love my Droid too.
I’m probably completely unaware of all that it can actually do, but I’m content with knowing it’s smarter than I am and will read my mind on any given day. My one pet peeve: every time I try to text the word “guy”, as in “that guy from the bar” (for example’s sake, of course) the phone autocorrects it to “Guy”, as in, someone’s name…is in, um, Guy Fawkes?
As though I would refer to a man named Guy more than I would use the word, guy. Anyway, other than that, I know you and Eddie will be very happy together. Welcome to the other side!

i know someone who got a droid and took it back. it was too ‘spensive for him. but he LOVED it, too. the cell phone i have… the duggars would probably use to be honest. it has ONE cool feature and that’s the ‘melody composer’ where i composed the most awesome ringtone ever. well… maybe not ever, but for the hippo? totally awesome.

I made the switch as well, and have been happy with it so far! I had the storm, so I was used to the touch screen, etc., but I was worried about not having BB features that I liked. I am so glad that I upgraded to the Inredible, but it really does live up to it’s name!

What the hell is a Droid?! It has to be something freaking fantastic if it can make you leave a BLACKBERRY! I moved from an Iphone to a BB..so I don’t understand any one who can move on from a BB!

Beware, touch screen is addictive. I can’t get any of the fancy schmancy new phones because I live WAY out of reach of most providers (and don’t want to spend all that cash to buy one unlocked without a plan), so I got an older Palm Treo. With touch screen. I want ALL cell phones I come in contact with now to work by touch… this nonsense of finding the right buttons to push… pfft! how terribly manual.

I know what you mean about the Droid. My son got one a couple weeks ago and he hasn’t shut up about it since, and insists on showing it to total strangers as well as his friends just so he can tell them how much their phones suck by comparison.

Great Romance — capitalized — seems just right.
This is exactly what I need! My phone’s autotext is so stupid I’m actually the one typing the right spelling and it’s the one screwing things up. It’d rather type in manho than mango.
Fortunately, it has learned one right thing. When I type in fucking, it automatically types it as FUCKING because I was mad and typed it in all caps when I added it. 95% of the time, that’s how it needs to be written so I love it for that.
HAHA you and your Droid sound like me and my iPhone. Five months on and I STILL can’t type for shiz.
