~ After the 20-hour headache that was putting together the (awesome-and-totally-worth-it!!!!!) Love Harder video, I have officially decided I need a Mac. Anyone selling a laptop? That they will promise on pain of my ripping them a new one on this blog is totally legit and will not die on me? BECAUSE IF ANOTHER COMPUTER DIES ON ME I WILL GO ALL STABBY ON A STRANGE CHILD and no one wants that.
~ I’ve got a guest post over at Middle Aged Waitress today, in which I recount my First Day Ever of being a waitress. Suffice to say, it did not go well…
~ Thought I’ve said it all over the interwebs, I have yet to officially say Thank You, so much, to everyone who voted for me in the 20SB Bootleg Awards. I walked away with more than my fair share, and I could not be more honored. I knew I had “Most Awkward” in the bag, but “Best Female”? “Funniest”? Y’all blow me the freak away. (More awesome news to come re: me and 20SB later this week… WOOT!)

Now when you say “STABBY ON A STRANGE CHILD” does that imply that the child is, in some way, odd or simply that the child is someone who is not related to you or anyone you know? On terms of a Mac, if you do not find a used one and are forced to buy new, I strongly suggest going through Best Buy. They offer a wonderful insurance-esque program through geek squad and the Apple Store of which they do not care what happens, they’ll fix it. When I bought my MB Pro they told me I could even run it over and they’d just take it in and see what they could do. I recently busted it to hell and back and they kept it for almost 2 weeks but when I got it back almost every single cosmetic piece (case, glass, covers, etc) was brand new and even had that new computer smell! So yeah, just my friendly advice. It’s a great program!
Duly noted. Barring an enormous tax refund, I don’t think it’s in the cards, but man, would it be nice. Sighhhh…
I would love a MAC too – I think I might save up and buy myself one for my bday

I don ‘t have a laptop for sale, but I can tell you that I got a Mac from Best Buy and I highly recommend it. They have a best buy card that you can get that same day and you can charge the laptop to that card. Basically, there is no interest was 18 months and the minimal payments are pretty cheap. I figured out how much I have to pay each month to ensure it’s paid off by the 18 month mark and I won’t have to worry about insurance. It’s a pretty sweet deal and it’s worked out for me.
Ummm. So, I love you. And I just might do this on the way home.

Anyway.
Seriously, I love my Mac. It’s going strong on Year #5. Granted, I’ve had to replace the hard drive (THAT, was a tragic experience. I… I don’t want to talk about it.)… the CD drive doesn’t work anymore… the trackpad doesn’t work anymore… but really? For as much abuse as that lappy has taken, it’s a GREAT machine. Hands down, I recommend them.
That settles it. I’m going to Best Buy on Friday.

I lurve my mac. It, however, is not a laptop, but a Mini Mac desktop, but if I wanted, I could literally fit it in my purse. Aaaaand it is awesome, has wireless inside, 6 USB ports, one of those sleek cd/dvd burner drives, and if you don’t care too much about graphic imaging and photoshop, you can hook up a regular monitor to it. By itself, no keyboard, mouse, monitor, it is $600. But you could probably get those other things secondhand. (I found a keyboard/mouse combo online for $35.) And I have to say, it is one of the quietest things…while my PC laptop breathes heavily like it is walking up a hill.

Also, it came with the whole iLife package, which includes iPhoto, iMovie, Garage Band, etc. etc. Best thing ever. And if you want MS Office for it, I would recommend checking out OpenOffice.org. Practically the same interface as MS Office, but free, and compatible to save in any format.
