My highlights this week…
- Last week was our first in our new apartment. Every morning, I took a nice hot shower at 7:30. Every day, B bitched and moaned and shed tears and accused me of using all the hot water, because his 8am shower was ice cold. He was especially annoyed because the water in the bathroom sink would get hot, but his shower would not. Finally, on Friday, we were both home and I was in the bathroom when he got in the shower…
“Dammit!!” He yelled. “It’s still freezing cold!”
“What the… do you have the cold turned ALL the way off?” I asked.
“Yes! It’s completely turned off! Mother #*(%^_@#^%)(!!!!”
“Okay, and the hot on the left, that’s turned ALL the way on?”
Silence.
“On the left?”
Me: “BWAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’ve been taking cold showers all week because you’re turning the wrong handle?!?!!?!?”
Then I laughed for about 19 hours and 37 minutes straight. In his defense, the one on the right IS apparently marked “H”, but after a whole week of cold showers, wouldn’t you at *some* point try the other handle? Especially when every sink EVER has the hot water on the left?
Life = made.
- Thanks to my dear friend Restaurant Refugee (who I had a lovely evening of drinks with last night AND we managed to not hatch any hairbrained schemes for once), it has been brought to my attention that I now have a restaurant in my neighborhood that delivers a wide array of beer and wine along with a decent General Tso’s. This theory was tested this week with great success. Also? I may not leave my couch all weekend. FTMFW.
- We spent Wednesday afternoon at IKEA. Do you know how fucking blissful IKEA on a weekday afternoon is?!? It is magical… like your very own Swedish Narnia. Although I saw this again, which I want more than ever, and STILL B denies me even after a year…
Mmmmm…. moocow.
- Guess what my weekend consists of? NOTHING. Zero plans. Zip zilch. And I couldn’t be happier about it, because my next weekends look like this: Housewarming, Shenandoah Valley wine trip, parents in town, weekend in New York, my birthday/wedding party, and Costa freaking Rica, baby. Is all of that awesome? Yes. Does it exhaust me even to TYPE OUT? Most definitely. So this weekend will consist of my ass on the couch, ordering Chinese food and wine, and only getting up to play the occasional game of Wii sword fighting, which rocks because it is totally a killer arm workout but also you get to MURDER people. I will get Michelle Obama arms if I have to slay a gazillion Miis to do it.
Blood thirst is fun!

I enjoy Ikea on weekday evenings not only because it’s NOT a mad house but that’s when all the lesbians show up.
Occasionally you get to see lipstick lesbians touching each others butt. Hot.
All the rest you can block out of your memory by pretending they are just another couch. They are about the same size and sometimes even the same texture. They even appreciate when I lose some change down their ample crack of the giant floppy boobs they carry around, like it’s a cushion crack.
Awesome.

When we moved in to the place we live now, Kyle the plumber, in his infinite wisdom (*snark) had the “hot” and “cold” reversed on the kitchen sink (the usual is left = hot, right = cold)… I cannot tell you how many times I got scalded because I couldn’t get used to it. And then the faucet needed to be replaced and the COMPETENT person that did it hooked it up correctly… but now, because I can’t freakin’ remember which way the sink works, I am still getting scalded all the time.

People from all over america don’t know whether to take him seriously or not….and it’s weird because just YESTERDAY they were joking on the air about using that cardboard cut out again…lol. What a jokester.
