You, um, may notice something new about my page. Namely, that freaky countdown at the top right, where my dorky little face used to be.

That’s right, folks. I am THAT excited for the new season of True Blood. Judge if you must.

But when HBO announced they were coming out with a vampire show, no one was more skeptical than I.

(Which is odd, considering how obsessed I was with Christopher Pike’s “The Last Vampire” series as a tween.)

But it just seemed so cliche, what with the craziness surrounding the oh-so-immature Twilight series and movies. (Not that they aren’t enjoyable- I like some bloody teenager angst as much as the next person. But come on… no one actually thinks it’s a quality production, right?)

And I get it. Eternal life, the undead, remarkable power, the stories we’ve grown up with… no matter who you are, the teeniest part of your soul HAS to think, “Well… these myths must have come from somewhere…” Vampire stories hold for us an incredible combination of fear and lust; the allure is not so hard to understand, really.

But still, I was skeptical.

And then I saw the opening credits.

And skeptical became intrigued.

Frankly, I’ve never seen such a deliciously haunting introduction… I’ve never quite so much enjoyed the sensation of my skin crawling.

And so I thought, “Blood, sex, and HBO, huh? This might be worth a shot.”

And it is fucking SEXY.

The lead actor, Stephen Moyer, is freaking goddamn amazing. In fact, they ALL are. There is not a single character that annoys me; I am constantly re-deciding who my favorite is. There is raw and honest homosexuality, a powerful portrayal of bigotry that could mirror any issue we struggle with today, and Jimmy James. There is the loss of innocence, of virginity, and of morality.

Most of all, there is love that, as Richard The Seeker would say, “transcends all barriers.” (It’s less corny if he says it and not me. No? Shuttup.)

My point is, don’t write this show off in your mind by associating it with Twilight.

These vampires don’t fucking glitter.

(And after all, these are the people who brought us Kenny Powers, no?)

June 14th… who’s bringing the popcorn?

Extra garlic, please.

“these vampires don’t fucking glitter” cracked me up

2 HannahBlue June 1, 2009 at 11:55 am

“Twilight” is a Christian fundamentalist bastardization of vampire lore, but nowhere near to being the real thing. No way, could it turn me off vampires.
But I am also intrigued by “True Blood”. I mistakenly rented the middle part of season 1 without seeing the first few episodes, so I’m trying to figure out what’s going on. But so far, its not bad.

3 Lil' Woman June 1, 2009 at 11:58 am

I’m not into the Twilight series, but I do like me some True Blood and vampire sex..lol :)

4 Eric June 1, 2009 at 12:00 pm

This looks so much better than the one Leslie Nielson was in.

5 Fearless in Toronto June 1, 2009 at 12:02 pm

If I didn’t finally buckle and order HBO for Grey Gardens, I’m not sure about this…but hey, I’m a sucker for a good vampire story.

Get it? A SUCKER? ehhhh, shaddup. It’s Monday. Coffee, please!

6 Mike June 1, 2009 at 12:06 pm

I don’t get all that other shit.

I just want to be able to fly and pick up large objects and chuck them at people.

Instead of the medium sized objects I chuck at people now.

That’s why vampires are cool. Flying and chucking large shit.

Awesome.

7 Serena June 1, 2009 at 12:08 pm

I bet you never thought you would be campaigning so much about a vampire show hey? Not something that comes up in conversation that often lol

8 FoggyDew June 1, 2009 at 12:21 pm

I watched the first couple of episodes of this last year and was pretty impressed. Then life got in the way and I kinda dropped it off my radar. There are just so many good shows on these days I sometimes find myself having to choose. Maybe, if the premier of Weeds blows (get it?) I may switch back.

9 Shannon June 1, 2009 at 12:21 pm

Great. This is all I need is another show to be addicted to. Thanks a lot. ;)

10 cavy June 1, 2009 at 12:26 pm

mmmm i love true blood. tasty.

11 sleepyjane June 1, 2009 at 12:27 pm

Okay so here in SA it’s considered an “import item” and thus it’s FREAKING expensive. But I’ve been wanting to see it since forever. I will see it. One day.

12 Malnurtured Snay June 1, 2009 at 12:32 pm

Awesome post title! I’ve actually got season 1 in my Netflix queue — hope it’s as good as it’s cracked up to be.

Also, have you considered reading the books? There’s a whole long series …

13 Organic Meatbag June 1, 2009 at 12:35 pm

My Wife started watching this recently. I walked in just in time to see Jimmy James hooking up with the gay black dude… I cried out “No, not Jimmy James!” I longed to see a great verbal exchange between Jimmy James and Bill McNeill… fuck, I miss Phil Hartman…

14 Mr. Apron June 1, 2009 at 12:36 pm

I don’t know if there’s room in my life, what with Southland and all. But I’m game for anything that celebrates blood and tits.

15 Shop Girl* June 1, 2009 at 12:36 pm

Oooh I had never even HEARD of this show until right now!! If it’s really THAT good I’ll give’er a look.

I’m game for some non-glittery vamps.

16 Lemmonex June 1, 2009 at 12:45 pm

Dude, Christopher Pike! I loved those freaking books. Also, is it my pervy memory, or were they kinda sexy?

17 Shannon June 1, 2009 at 12:49 pm

A few things we need to discuss: 1.Have you read the books? The Sookie Stackhouse series is by far the biggest indulgence I’ve ever gotten myself into. Screw you Twilight, Charlaine Harris can write a good vampire sex scene. Yum.
2.Alexander Skarsgard. In my sexy dreams he always pops up. With Sayid from Lost. Misting each other with spray bottles. What?

18 Kate June 1, 2009 at 12:50 pm

SO your fault that I’m going to have nightmares tonight. YOUR FAULT.

19 Tee aka The Diva's Thoughts June 1, 2009 at 12:55 pm

I have not been into a vampire movie since Interview With A Vampire was out many years ago. lol

20 f.B June 1, 2009 at 12:58 pm

guilty: totally assumed it was just an extension of the Twilight madness.

but Anna Paquin? at least worth a try.

21 Just Playing Pretend June 1, 2009 at 1:01 pm

HBO. What is this three letter word you speak of?

22 Margarita June 1, 2009 at 1:02 pm

I’m not a Twilight “follower” but this show looks hot. And sexy. Which means I”ll watch it. I’m into anything that’s like porn but not actually. shhh

23 ..::Poca::.. June 1, 2009 at 1:03 pm

I randomly started watching this “on demand” and stayed up until 4am until I was caught up with season 1. Awesomenes.

24 regardez moi June 1, 2009 at 1:06 pm

‘They don’t fucking glitter’ cracked me up, too.

I watched the trailor whilst eating my breakfast. This is a good way to diet because I’ve totally lost my appetite.

I’m going to netflix the first season now.

25 Andhari June 1, 2009 at 1:10 pm

Oh come on, Twilight hater? Not you too, it’s painful to read lol. I’m its die hard fan, sad, i know.

26 Megan @ SomewhatVoluble June 1, 2009 at 1:15 pm

I saw a special on HBO the other night that caught everyone up on the highlights of the first season; I won’t lie–I’m intrigued. I may have to buy it to watch before June 14th, so I can be ready!

27 Jo June 1, 2009 at 1:21 pm

Oh my god, I’m counting the days as well. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE True Blood. I particularly love the way Bill says “Sookie”. It’s very amusing.

I read all the books too. So good.

28 Lisa June 1, 2009 at 1:30 pm

I’ve been watching the first season’s DVD pretty much non-stop lately. Eric is my favorite character. He looks nothing like how I pictured him reading the books, but I still love him.

Oh, and the books make it very clear that Stephenie Meyer doesn’t have an original thought in her head. I think she was very “inspired” by Charlaine Harris.

29 Maxie June 1, 2009 at 1:31 pm

this (along with the other weird shows you watch) is one of the things I choose to ignore about you.

30 ~Penny~ June 1, 2009 at 1:33 pm

I am with Shannon! The books are AMAZING!!! Screw Twilight and her high school whining!

Hold off on reading the series until after this season is over. It will give you something to do:)

31 moooooog35 June 1, 2009 at 1:39 pm

Let me get this straight:

I have to be undead to get laid?

Figures.

32 floreta June 1, 2009 at 1:44 pm

i’m not cool enough to have HBO but you’re right about it being better than twilight.

33 shine June 1, 2009 at 1:56 pm

Oh, Christopher Pike, how I loved you.

34 Sebastian June 1, 2009 at 1:59 pm

I hope you are up to date on other awesome HBO series too…! Like The Wire and Rome! Two of the finest shows ever MADE.

35 alexa - cleveland's a plum June 1, 2009 at 2:01 pm

ahhhhhhh lilu i didn’t realize you were such a fan! i’m obsessed, OBSESSED.

i can’t wait for the show to start, no joke the only reason i keep subscribing to HBO is true blood.

the show it so hot. RAWR.

36 mylittlebecky June 1, 2009 at 2:02 pm

see? THIS is why we need netflix again! the argument becomes stronger.

37 Liebchen June 1, 2009 at 2:05 pm

If only I had HBO…you’re right: the credits move me from skeptical to intrigued.

They’re not paying you to advertise…are they?

38 Narm June 1, 2009 at 2:09 pm

The intro kind of reminded me of Dexter – which is another amazing show if you’ve never watched.

39 Gina June 1, 2009 at 2:11 pm

i am the opposite of this post. i was excited for this show before it started because it’s by the 6 ft under guy (alan ball?) and i loved that show, but on true blood i find the acting LOL-able, the inconsistent southern accents LMAO-able and the vampires may not glitter, but they sure do have the hot topic bordello vibe cliche in effect. i tried to watch four episodes but gave up around three.

sorry. it’s monday. but i’m glad you’re excited. i’m looking for my true blood this morning.

40 Pop Champagne June 1, 2009 at 2:11 pm

I love how the modern film makes Vampires so sexual and the female vampires are always so sexy. I wonder what started that trend!!

41 Big Money Tony June 1, 2009 at 2:14 pm

The show is real good in the way it portrays discrimination in the form of vampire hate. It’s sad how some of mankind will use any difference just for hate.

Funny how I think it’s so good yet I haven’t watched the last 4 episodes or so from last season. but I started this past weekend

42 amanda June 1, 2009 at 2:16 pm

i sort of really don’t like anna paquin. i don’t know why-but ew.

umm…i couldn’t get into this show. i think i’ll stick to my innocent twilight addiction. because i’m gay as shit like that.

43 BeckEye June 1, 2009 at 2:33 pm

I used to be obsessed with vampires when I was younger, but somewhere along the line I kind of grew out of it. I still think vampires are cool, I just don’t go out of my way to watch vampire movies and shows. I still watch all of those Discovery shows though about the real history and folklore. It’s fascinating stuff.

44 Bethie June 1, 2009 at 2:40 pm

Dude – I was re-watching part of Season 1 ondemand last night…and drinking Chardonnay…and downloading music from the show and it was JUST THEN that I realized the new season starts so soon. I was thinking August for some reason. CANNOT WAIT.

Oh also as a result of said Chardonnay I may or may not have REALLY found a deeper meaning in the initial Bill/Sookie interactions. “May I call on you?”

45 Kristina P. June 1, 2009 at 2:52 pm

I don’t hate all vampire shows. Just really crappy, overrated ones. Loved Buffy. I could probably get into True Blood.

46 ChinkyGirLMeL June 1, 2009 at 2:54 pm

Oh wow..you’re giving me another show to be addicted to. hehehehe..Good luck with my mom trying to grab the remote control from me. One move and I’m gonna bite her! lols!

47 LiLu June 1, 2009 at 3:00 pm

BWP: When I saw that in Twilight, I was like ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? The rest was completely believable, of course.

HannahBlue: You won't be sorry. I promise.

Lil' Woman: Exactly! Bite me, Bill!

Eric: Ha. Oh, Leslie. What would this world be without 'Airplane'?

Fearless: Netflix, my dear. Netflix.

Mike: I'm pretty sure that's Hancock… not vampires. Either way.

Serena: I really, really didn't. But it is DELICIOUS. The world must know.

FoggyDew: I haven't enjoyed Weeds for a while now, except for Kevin Nealon. God, I love that man.

Shannon: SO welcome! <3

cavy: I'll bite YOU in a few weeks! What?

sleepyjane: Seriously… put it on your bucket list.

Snay: I am very much looking forward to reading them!

Meatbag: That was one of the more disturbing scenes. And I think Phil is the only celebrity death I've ever cried over.

Mr. Apron: Right?? Southland's on my list, too.

Shop Girl*: You won't be sorry.

Lemmonex: I read ALL of them. Over and over… it was totally healthy.

Shannon: Mmmmm… Alexander… but I have to go Sawyer on LOST!

Kate: But sexy vampirey nightmares, no?

Tee: Might be time to pick it up again…

f.B: B was actually the one who pushed it on me… just sayin…

JPP: You need to find yourself a man with it. For reals.

Margarita: Vampire porn is the best porn.

Poca: Hello, new soulmate. :-)

regardez moi: YESSSSS! Win!

Andhari: Oh, I LIKED Twilight. It just didn't exactly stretch my brain… nothing wrong with that.

Megan: We saved that special, even though we saw the whole season. JUST SAYIN.

Jo: I have dreams about that voice. What?

Lisa: Eric is fantastic, truly. And not at all hot, B. Swear…

Maxie: You are WRONG, woman. Wrong!

Penny: I am so stoked to read them now!

moog: All these years, wasted being alive…

floreta: SO much better. Night and day, for reals.

shine: Remember Me was my favorite, I think. All 13 of them or however many…

Sebastian: The Wire, yes, every last second of it. Rome is on my list like whoa.

alexa: Just one more reason I love your face more than anything on this planet. That is all.

mylittlebecky: How do you LIVE without it?? Blasphemy!

Liebchen: No, but they should be…

Narm: I've heard only good about that as well. *adds to list*

Gina: Actually, I felt the exact same way you did… until about the 4th or 5th episode, ironically enough. And now I am 100% hooked. Maybe it just broke me down? ;-)

Pop Champ: I don't know, but I LOVE it.

BMT: Agreed 100% re: the portrayal of discrimination. Especially given that it takes place in the deep South…

amanda: She annoyed the piss out of me at first, but I've gotten used to her now.

BeckEye: I love that stuff, too. It's just so damn COOL.

Bethie: Reason 4,159 why I love you.

Kristina P: I don't know if this is crappy enough… it's damn good.

ChinkyGirLMeL: Put your fangs in first!

48 Nicole June 1, 2009 at 3:08 pm

As much as I love Twilight, this just looks SO much better.

49 Tonya June 1, 2009 at 3:10 pm

I LOVE TRUEBLOOD!!! I need the coundown clock for my blog too now! I have been reading the books that TrueBlood is based on and the books are so good too. I tell everyone who will listen that Twilight sucks ass in comparison. :)

50 Nikki June 1, 2009 at 3:13 pm

I still love me some Robert Pattinson, but plan to read the true blood books before I hunker down with netflix. Glad you love it so much, means I’ll probably like it too!

51 Jordan June 1, 2009 at 3:14 pm

Loves me some True Blood! Big time fang banger here, but I’ve avoided Twilight like the plague. It just seems so kitschy. The only TB character that has ever annoyed me was Amy, and well…thank God that’s been fixed. I am so pumped to see what the Maenid has in store for S2. I can hardly wait for June 14th!

I got the first seven books for Christmas, and I’m still plugging my way through the first, but Harris is a friggin’ awesome author!

52 Rebel Mel June 1, 2009 at 3:19 pm

Call me a creep. Call me a freak. Call me what you’d like. But I have this weird obsession with serial killers. They are interesting as fuck.

A lot of vampire tales and whatnot stem from serial killers from way back when. These are the people that murdered people and decided to drink the blood after, or consume the corpse. You know. The weird stuff. Well, way back in the day, like 15th century, due to seldom newpapers and stuff, stories were exaggerated and most people had the mentality of “no human could commit a crime like that” so it said that “only a monster” could commit a crime like that, and thats how they were potrayed in print. And you know how it goes, hearing of things from word of mouth. Blown WAY out of proportion.

Anyway, I believe it was dracula who was actually a serial killer, but the severity of his crimes got him dubbed as a monster, vampire to be exact. I did a bit of googling to try to find the information because I had actually read about this in one of my books, which is at home, and I am at work. I was trying to look for some better examples, but I guess they will have to wait.

On another note, while googling I stumbled upon this one site. The description is what caught me… “Are you an active, uncaught serial killer? Click here to anonymously share your exploits with us, and if you wish, the world!”

WTF? Things, like that exist? Daaaaamn.

53 E June 1, 2009 at 3:20 pm

I LOVE True Blood! I just got season one on blu ray, woo hoo and I have the books.

I am so excited. It will be an early birthday present, since it starts two days before my actual birthday!

54 Alice June 1, 2009 at 3:34 pm

i don’t have hbo, and i am seriously considering signing up for it for this series. i’ve seen the first 3 or 4 episodes and I WANT MOOORE.

55 Deutlich June 1, 2009 at 3:37 pm

I wish I had HBO

56 Cassie June 1, 2009 at 3:39 pm

I love True Blood and I’m so excited for the new season! Except I’m too poor to have HBO so I have to wait a few days after each episode and um, find them elsewhere, lol

I am waiting very impatiently for season 1 to arrive in the mail but according to Blockbuster it will be a “very long wait.” I am NOT pleased at all about this.

57 Children of the Nineties June 1, 2009 at 3:57 pm

I love the YouTube screenshot that accompanies the first clip. So funny. I keep hearing so much about True Blood, I may have to jump on the vampire bandwagon.

On an aside (sort of), it my was boyfriend’s friends bachelor party this weekend and the stripper told the groom she thought he was attractive because he was “dark and mysterious, like a vampire.”

58 Wendy June 1, 2009 at 3:58 pm

You should read the books. Those are super sexy too! :)

59 Hannah-Lane June 1, 2009 at 4:00 pm

Don’t even get me started on Twilight…

True Blood is awesome. And I agree the opening credits are some of the best opening credits ever produced!! I grew up loving Buffy and anything fangy….well not anything…but I must have watched Inteview with a Vampire a million times.

I’m garlicing the popcorn now!

60 The Northerner June 1, 2009 at 4:03 pm

Just added season 1 to my netflix queue!

61 erinwalker June 1, 2009 at 4:04 pm

I really do love this show. The books are pretty fantastic as well!

62 -jd June 1, 2009 at 4:08 pm

I just added this to my blockbuster queue, all from your recommendation!

63 flipflops June 1, 2009 at 4:10 pm

Totally watched the first season of True Blood over Memorial Day weekend. Hotness!

64 ♥Caroline♥ June 1, 2009 at 4:17 pm

never heard of it…i will have to check it out. I will have to rent it because i don’t have HBO.

65 Holly Golightly June 1, 2009 at 4:23 pm

Everyone keeps telling me I’ll love this show, so I think I’m adding it to my Netflix now. However, I don’t have cable so I’m afraid to get addicted and then not be able to watch it this season.

66 alwaysandnever June 1, 2009 at 4:25 pm

I really liked Season 1, can’t wait for the second to start!

67 Soda and Candy June 1, 2009 at 4:37 pm

How random, we just watched the first ep of season one yesterday. I think we’ll keep going with it, it seems pretty cool.

68 Ben June 1, 2009 at 4:38 pm

Greatest. Show. Ever.

The fact that the hotty hot hot brother gets straight up naked every week? GENIUS.

69 Kim June 1, 2009 at 4:46 pm

I need to watch season 1 so I’m ready for season 2. The Mister watched it and now I need to catch up.

70 Cass June 1, 2009 at 4:53 pm

Forget the extended post, all you had to say was “These vampires don’t fucking glitter.” :-) I love me some vampire series (Christopher Pike, Buffy, etc.) but Twilight’s turned me off of them for a bit.

But that intro has me intrigued. At least now I know what I’ll be watching this summer.

71 The Vegetable Assassin June 1, 2009 at 5:04 pm

Aw man, TRUE BLOOD is the bomb. That show is ADDICTIVE. Plus there’s lots of people doing it on TV which is always good. Plus the opening titles do indeed rock the most.

I still don’t get the fascination with the nasty Danny McBride show though. I was muchos disappointed in it. I wanted so badly to like it and didn’t. True Blood is a million times better. A trillion.

72 Beth June 1, 2009 at 5:21 pm

There hasn’t been a good vampire show since BTVS. And the reason True Blood is so much better than Twilight is because it was written for adults, not children.

I’m ready. TiVo is programmed, have a bottle of wine and told hubsters the kids are his.

73 The Clandestine Samurai June 1, 2009 at 5:21 pm

This and “Twilight” look nothing alike. At all. One is commentary on the human nature and issues of today. The other is adventure and unfolding plot for teens. They don’t even resemble each other slightly.

The only thing I’ve seen of “True Blood” is a part of episode where Paquin’s boyfriend came out of the ground and they had sex in what I guessed was the forest.

“True Blood” looks very interesting and well-written. I haven’t seen it from the beginning though.

74 JoLee June 1, 2009 at 5:22 pm

The first time I was introduced to the True Blood Series, I didn’t get up for 8 hours. It was awful and wonderful at the same time.

75 mo.stoneskin June 1, 2009 at 5:30 pm

*silently judges and cruises away shaking head pitifully*

76 Jaime @ Fast Times June 1, 2009 at 5:31 pm

I’m going to go ahead and say that I’m not into vampires at all, but I love Twilight. I’ve never seen True Blood, I’ve stayed away from it because it looks scary. And I can’t stand anything scary!

77 Piper Jacquelyn June 1, 2009 at 5:32 pm

I have not been fortunate enough to watch this lovely show, as I do not have HBO, but am planning on watching the entire first season on DVD this week so I can catch up before it begins again! I’m hoping to mooch off a friend when it’s on….

78 hannahjustbreathe June 1, 2009 at 5:55 pm

Okay, I have so much to say I actually have to number my comments.

1. Alan Ball is a genius. Hello, “Six Feet Under”? “American Beauty”? ‘Nough said.

2. Did you ever read L.J. Smith’s series “The Vampire Diaries”? Way better than Christopher Pike’s stuff, in my humble opinion.

3. My roommate and I agreed not to get HBO when we moved in together last September, and every month I drop a hint to her that I want to add it on. SOLELY so I can start watching “True Blood” for real vs. via reruns, YouTube, etc.

4. I heart you even more (if that’s possible!) for liking this show. And vampires.

79 Mel June 1, 2009 at 6:06 pm

I’ve heard this show is good, but have yet to see it myself…

80 lustyreader June 1, 2009 at 6:09 pm

if you ever want to borrow any of the 9 books…just ask.

also i was sookie for halloween. i bought a merlotte’s tshirt online. the end.

NOT the end, i have a secret desire to name our next pet/child sookie.

81 leighbee June 1, 2009 at 6:21 pm

I was sooo obsessed with Christopher Pike, too. Remember Me and The Last Vampire were read until they fell apart.
Awesome!

82 Nickie. June 1, 2009 at 6:39 pm

Wow, true blood looks like an awesome show! I love the intro! I dont have hbo sadly tho..=(

83 The Wife in Stilettos June 1, 2009 at 6:58 pm

thanks for sharing next season’s trailer. we (the husband and me) love watching this show! it’s just so hot!

84 Redhead June 1, 2009 at 7:22 pm

I watched the first episode of the first season with other people. I had to, um, leave the room for a while.

85 HeatherFeather June 1, 2009 at 7:47 pm

TrueBlood is great, but the books are soooo much better! Not as sexy as the series, but it’s been HBO-ified, which is always a good thing! :)

86 WuTang June 1, 2009 at 8:02 pm

a) I just blogged about twilight and how much I love it, even though it’s TERRIBLE! I think it just makes me feel like a teenager again, haha
b) kenny powers is my hero
c) it looks VERY sexy. I might just have to watch this show

87 Kellie June 1, 2009 at 8:09 pm

Haha! That’s right, no fucking glitter here! Just lots of sexiness and naughtiness and overall scrumptiousness! I love True Blood and can’t wait for it to come back. :)

88 Fidgeting Gidget June 1, 2009 at 8:27 pm

I’ve heard it’s great, but I’m resisting because A) I don’t get that channel (a shame, I know) and B) I’m addicted to too many TV shows as it is.

LiLu, I left you some bloggy love at my blog today–in award form.

89 Miss Eve June 1, 2009 at 8:32 pm

I’ve heard good and bad about this serises, but now you definitely made me curious :-)

90 LiLu June 1, 2009 at 8:59 pm

Nicole: It is. Trust.

Tonya: Steal the countdown! Spread the word :-)

Nikki: Oh, you will. It is GLORIOUS- and trust, Bill leaves nothing to be desired as far as male role actors go…

Jordan: Haha “that’s been fixed”- truth! And yeah, she was TOTALLY annoying. I was watching Mean Girls the other day, and she’s the nerdy girl friend in it! So weird.

Rebel Mel: Who isn’t fascinated by serial killers??? I am so not googling that website, though…

E: YES! We’re totally buying it when the set comes out.

Alice: You will NOT be sorry. I promise this.

Deutlich: I wish you did, too! Talk to the mamakins.

Cassie: YESSSS a fellow fan! Have you tried Netflix maybe?

Children 90s: Vampires are the new black, apparently.

Wendy: Oh, I will. Promise!

Miss Eve: I hope I’ve convinced you ;-)

91 Dolce June 1, 2009 at 9:11 pm

I’m guilty.

I liked Twilight more than the first season of TrueBlood. It’s because Edward is much more SEXY than Bill.

(seriously, his name is BILL). And none of the characters are exceptionally attractive.

However, I wouldn’t deem either of these vampire stores quality.

92 Hanako66 June 1, 2009 at 9:30 pm

it is so good…I can’t wait for the new season!

93 GMolina June 1, 2009 at 9:47 pm

lol.
yes, I heard it is a really good show. A friend of mine was watching it online the other day, and she told me they had some wild sex. XD well… I started looking for it, but I can’t find it [since I can't follow TV schedules, instead it's Grey's Anatomy we're talking about]…I’m still looking for it.

I hope it’s good, because I usually get disappointed with vampire stories: Twilight sucks.

94 Kendall June 1, 2009 at 10:02 pm

Yeah, you know about my love of the True Blood. Have all ready made sure to have that night free so me and the roomie can watch.

Speaking of shows, have you watched Glee yet? Have you? Huh? Well?

95 Jules June 1, 2009 at 10:41 pm

Damn – you had to go and throw in that thing about Kenny Powers. Now I’m going to HAVE to watch True Blood…. Damn it!

96 Katelin June 1, 2009 at 11:00 pm

i’m such a vampire nerd, the fear street series of them was my fave as a kid. and clearly i’m a twilighter. but since i don’t have hbo i haven’t been able to watch this gem yet, i guess it’s another show to add to the “rent the whole season and do nothing but watch it for 3 days” list.

97 Katie June 1, 2009 at 11:18 pm

This kind of makes me wish I had HBO.

98 meleah rebeccah June 1, 2009 at 11:20 pm

well you sure sold me on watching this!

99 miss. chief June 2, 2009 at 12:00 am

i was thinking to myself "hey self, why does the name Anna Paquin sound so familiar?"
then i remembered
one time, i didn't know that the entire cast of X-Men was in the same isolated resort as i was, and i was super drunk and i pushed her out of my way. my friends were all "you pushed a famous person" and then i realized wolverine was there and it was really weird.
so…there ya go

100 Miss Yvonne June 2, 2009 at 12:17 am

Oh hell, I can't wait for this season to start! Sam is sex on a stick. Slurp.

101 Martha June 2, 2009 at 12:19 am

Time to sharpen the fangs and have some fun!

102 Kristin June 2, 2009 at 12:30 am

We've got friends who have been trying to get us into True Blood. Might be worth a shot. I think I'm going to hit up my Netflix. Thanks for following us!

103 drollgirl June 2, 2009 at 12:34 am

OH EDWARD. i'll take twilight books and/movie and ROBERT PATTINSON, and you can have this. i tried watching and can't do it. i even tried reading the books. the first book in the series was pretty good, but the series thunked for me on book 2 (sadly i did not figure this out until after i bought the entire MASSIVE series).

104 Dmbosstone June 2, 2009 at 12:40 am

You know despite what f.B says about Anna, I think she's kinda cute- albeit she does have some funky teeth but I think the Oscar on her mantle gives her some extra points.

105 Just telling it like it is June 2, 2009 at 12:49 am

I admit I was skeptical until I saw the hot guy…then I thought I'm all in…

106 down and out chic June 2, 2009 at 12:51 am

this is so funny because, seriously, i just got done watching an episode of true blood. b and i watched our first episode yesterday and we are both hooked! thank god these vampires don't glitter, b/c really?

107 G June 2, 2009 at 12:53 am

I remember when I was 10 years old and in grade 5 my teacher, who was the best, got me interested in reading by sending me home with the script for the play, "Dracula". I will never forget the delicious fear I experienced as I sat in my dad's comfy rocker completely mesmerized by the story. That night I fell in love with vampires.

108 Colby June 2, 2009 at 12:54 am

After my little marathon this weekend (and yes I watched all 12), I am now a believer. It kind of kicks Buffy's ass – with porn.

109 Lana June 2, 2009 at 1:11 am

so what i was so obsessed last fall that i would feed my 3 week old baby on the couch so i could watch vampire sexy shows on the big screen in the living room.

110 alissa June 2, 2009 at 1:26 am

this is completely the opposite message of your post – but ive never even understood the twighlight thing. and then i watched the mtv movie awards last night (because im a dork like that) and ok, i get it. that robert guy is basically yummy.

111 lustyreader June 2, 2009 at 1:29 am

113 Suburbia Steph June 2, 2009 at 2:15 am

Hanako66: I'm with you, sister.

GMolina: It does. But this is different. Trust me!

Jules: WIN!

Katelin: Fear Street! Oh man, you just took me back, lady.

Katie: It should. ;-)

meleah rebeccah: Yessssss! Victory!

miss. chief: Yeah, she is probably the weakest link in the show, too. But it's still totally bangable.

Miss Yvonne: Pass me a straw.

Martha: Hells yeah!

Kristin: I hope I tipped the scales!

drollgirl: Um, wanna sell them? I am not at all kidding…

Dmbosstone: She is sorta cute. But WTF did she win an Oscar for??

JTILII: Yessss. YOu won'tbe sorry.

D&O Chic: I KNOW. Twilight was over for me the second I saw that, for reals!

G: That is an awesome story, truly. For me and my dad, it was Watership Down, and all the JRR Tolkiens.

Colby: YES! I saw your post- too weird/funny!

Lana: I just fell even more in love with you.

alissa: He's not half bad, but that's about all Twilight's got…

lustyreader: OOOOO. It even rhymes! It was meant to be.

Sarah: Win.

Suburbia Steph: Well, by that I meant HBO… not Will Ferrell. But still!

Jenni: YES go TB Fans! We are taking over!

Awesome Sara: The junk food makes it even better. Truth.

Miss Rosa: Rowwwwr.

Miss_Nobody: Why yes, yes you do! Especially if you like Twilight. This is Twilight on crack. Sexy crack.

Blondie: Who doesn't like a little biting? ;-)

120 amindinmotown June 2, 2009 at 5:40 pm

Love, LOVE, LOVEEE True Blood, and so happy you just posted that trailer for me to see.

I started watching not just because I kinda like vampire-anything, ha, but I was intrigued to see Anna Paquin in such a different role. And after I got over – about 2 or 3 episodes in – her crazy southern accent, I was way hooked. Can’t wait for it to return!

121 Stephanie June 2, 2009 at 11:12 pm

This looks awesome! I’m going to admit that I’m a huge Buffy/Angel fan and have seen all the episodes. I’ve read the Twilight books, but haven’t seen the movies as I completely agree that they are crap. I mean, the books are crap enough. haha I’m going to have to catch up to Season Two!

122 Erin-Dot-D June 3, 2009 at 2:55 am

Love true blood, sookie stackhouse, nice ring to it huh? So excited. I have no life, so it's these kinda things that get me all riled (sp?) up.

123 LiLu June 3, 2009 at 10:46 am

amindinmotown: I agree, it took me a bit to get past her accent… but now I am HOOKED.

Stephanie: YES you do! Do it do it!

Erin: Best name ever. And shhh… TV is a life…

124 the iNDefatigable mjenks June 3, 2009 at 3:05 pm

More importantly, this has Anna Paquin topless. That, right there, is quality shizz.

Richard the Seeker is a fucking pussy.

125 !♣!F®om †he In§ide ou‡!♣! June 3, 2009 at 7:06 pm

Holy crap-tastical wednesday!! I just watched the first episode onDemand….um…it was enhanced, and had Lafayette sharing tid bits of info, and hints…like when you first see Gran, she's reading a Christopher Pike novel….pretty cool…..can't wait for next season, less than 2 weeks!!! RAWK!

126 Keeley June 7, 2009 at 2:09 pm
