Where Do You Get These Things Called "Savings"?? Crazy Talk!

by rachaelgking on February 8, 2009

Since SNL’s been officially in the toilet since Tina Fey left, I don’t really watch anymore. (We actually caught a few minutes last night, and Darryl Hammond, SERIOUSLY??? Are you going for the record of longest tenure or something? If you don’t have a terrible spin-off movie by now, it ain’t happening. You should have left when Al Gore won the election, but not the Presidency.)

Ahem. Diatribe aside, I found this over at Amalah this morning and it’s been cracking me up ever since…

Wait, so… if you don’t have the money for something, DON’T buy it?? What a novel concept…

(Um, that doesn’t apply to booze, right?)

Buying what you can afford? You mean there is such a thing? Hallelujah, our economy is saved!!!

I actually prefer Amy Poehler, so that was when it started stinking for me…BUT as someone who has been watching since she was 11 years old consistently–the show goes in waves…within a season it will be great again.

Tina was on for a LONG time and most people had no clue who she was until she played Sarah Palin…crazy right? She’s brilliant…but…

Don’t count out SNL yet…or ever.

People used to talk about how bad it was when Adam Sandler, Mike Meyers and Chris Farley and all them left–and it was sad but bred a whole new amazing cast–Cheri Oteri, Will Farrell, Ana Gasteyer, etc.

Now they go down as one of the best casts ever.

Oh I’m just yapping, I’ll forever be the girl who loves SNL.

PS–Seriously I’ve been living like a bag lady since I was in college and I am constantly amused at peoples spending habits…Am I the only one who isn’t affected by the shitty economy?

I mean…besides the fact that I can’t get a JOB.

Ok that was my old lady Sunday rant. :)

Get off my lawn!!

Unless you win the lotto or something, I am not sure how you can start saving much at all until AFTER you hit 35 or so, then they tell you that you should have been saving since your 20′s… or earlier if you have kids… :-p

One time I was so poor that I search my car and apartment for as much change as I could find so I could still buy booze. I learned my lesson and now I include booze money in my budget.

Essentially me: I know! Novel, right?

Kate: It’s crazy talk.

KassyK: I love Amy as well. Hopefully they can pull some new diamonds from the rough.

Connie: This is what I’m saying!! Hence why I don’t think kids are in the picture…

LBluca77: Booze money is an essential. End of story.

SMB: Weird! Here’s another link to it: http://consumerist.com/consumer/clips/snl-skit-dont-buy-stuff-you-cant-afford-252491.php

Seth Meyer doing a “Really?” segment about Michael Phelps was the highlight of this week’s episode. Other than that, total stinker.

Novel concept. I shouldn’t buy stuff I can’t afford?! But they keep sending me credit card offers…
