It’s V-day! Woot woot. I know I shouldn’t play into a redonculously commercialized holiday invented by Hallmark, but as SingleGirl so eloquently said better than I ever could… what’s really wrong with taking a day to tell the people in your life you love them? I figure as long as I don’t buy any singing cards or chalk candy hearts, I can try a little extra hard today to make sure all my lovahs know I care. (After all, that’s what someecards is for, no?)

It’s also B’s and my first Valentine’s together, one of many more to come. He asked me a few weeks ago what I wanted to do.
I’ve had quite a few Vdays in my past. Some were with boyfriends I now regret ever knowing. Some were ridiculously elaborate, expensive, and ultimately meaningless affairs. Some were incredible letdowns. The best were spent with single friends as we painted the town bitter.
So when the greatest man I’ve ever known, the most incredible boyfriend in the world, the person I want to be 90 years old and grey with one day, asked what I wanted to do? I told him the truth.
“You. Me. Our couch. A big ass blanket. Some greasy take-out, lots of booze, and many hours of bad TV… which will morph into porn as we get drunk.”
Thank goodness we finally figured out how to wire the computer through the big screen.
And that’s really all I want… Unless, B, you decide to spring a puppy on me. I wouldn’t be mad, I promise… just so long as he’s fugly.
Happy Valentine’s, my lovelies. No matter what you do, I hope it freaking RAWKS.

I’ve been spending the day at home with all my sweeties. I made crepes for brekkies – with fresh strawberries and nutella. We’ve been hanging out with the kids. Playing video games with my son, snuggling under a big blanket – with cats – and reading a dozen books with my daughter. Hubby spoiled me by ordering pizza so I wouldn’t have to cook dinner. Later tonight, after the kids go to bed, I plan on blending up the leftover strawberries and blueberries into a nice daiquiri. Who needs to go out and get all elaborate?!?
