Holy schnikes…
I just booked a flight to Costa Rica. For a week and a half. The day after my 25th birthday (and the huge, requisite blow-out party that will come with).
Boo yah.
I’ve wanted to go to Costa Rica forEVA eva. Other than Mexico, I’ve never been to Latin America. I think this may make up for the fact that I’vee been slacking this summer on my plan to go somewhere I’ve never been before every month this year.
In fact, I’m sure it does. Because I made up the rules, remember? I win.
Life is good, people. And bee tee dubs, if you’re thinking, wow that sounds great! Maybe I should get off my bum and have some adventurific fun, IntraTour seems to be the way to go for cheap airfare. (Now that I’ve given them free advertising, let’s hope they don’t screw me over somehow.)
Have you noticed how there haven’t been any shoes up here lately? Yeah, that’s because I refuse to look at any. I’ve been deleting every shopping-related email that comes to my inbox with nary a glance, and I’m trying to figure out a way to block myself from being able to see Zappos.
I suppose I’m just realizing that some things are more important. (Ewwwww….) But if it means that I can go to a tropical paradise and a country I’ve never been to before, with the man I love, for 10 days?
I think mama’s got enough shoes for the moment.

Jealous! I’m so jealous! I might even buy a new pair of shoes just to piss you off.
Just kidding. That’s awesome!
Oh, Kate, you are cruel… but at least I’ll only need flip flops and sneakers in CR. (Okay, and one FABULOUS pair of heels. Maybe two.)
Have a great time – I get to travel to Brazil and El Salvador for work in the fall.
Totally off topic, but I just read your comment on another blog that mentioned gtown cupcake. It did not live up to the hype, though I must give props to their marketing team for an amazing job. Unfortunately the cupcakes didn’t back up the marketing. In case you think I’m a snob, read these “rave” reviews http://www.yelp.com/biz/georgetown-cupcake-washington
That is all.
I came thisclose to planning a trip to San José to see DC United take on CD Saprissa at Estadio Ricardo Saprissa in September. The problem is it’s midweek and I don’t have much vacation at this point. Bah.
Zip- I’m supa jealous. Actually looked into Brazil but flights were redic… next time!
Zach- Really?? Everyone and their mother told me how good it is. Ah well, I shall trust the professional chef, I suppose…
66- Just effing do it… I know it’s going to be TOTALLY worth it.
Yay! I supposed to go to Costa Rica over Thanksgiving. Can’t wait to hear how your trip was. You can scout out all the must-dos for me!
Ahhh!! You lucky lucky girl!
I’m so excited for you – it’s going to be a blast!!
I was in Costa Rica a few years back (on the west coast) and loved every minute of it. A-MAZ-ing flora and fauna.
